Privacy policy

The Missionary Store and Holmes Clothing ("we," "us") run themissionarystore.com, missionaryclothing.com, and our store at 2342 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you give us: your name, email, phone number, billing and shipping address, and order details. When you create an account, sign up for email or text messages, contact us, or start a return, we also collect what you enter.
  • Fitting and family information: when you're fitted in our store or tell us about a missionary you're shopping for, we may keep sizes and measurements, the missionary's name, mission, and departure date, and which family members shop together. We keep these to make reorders and future fittings easier.
  • Payment information: payments are handled by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Information collected automatically: your device and browser type, IP address, approximate location, pages viewed, items added to cart, and how you move through the site. We collect this with cookies and the tools listed in section 3.

2. How we use it

  • To process orders, shipping, returns, and alterations
  • To answer questions and provide customer service
  • To send order updates, and marketing email or text messages if you've opted in
  • To remember your sizes and your family's purchases
  • To understand how the site is used and fix problems
  • To show you our ads on other sites and measure whether they work
  • To prevent fraud and meet legal obligations

3. Cookies and tracking tools

Our site uses cookies and similar tools. Some are needed for the store to work (cart, checkout, login). Others help us understand how the site is used or show you our ads elsewhere. Where the law requires it, we ask before using the non-essential ones, and you can change your choice anytime through the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of every page.

  • Shopify (Shopify Inc.): runs the store, cart, checkout, and accounts
  • Google Analytics (Google): measures site visits and purchases
  • Google Ads (Google): measures ad results and shows our ads on Google
  • Meta Pixel (Meta: Facebook, Instagram): measures ad results and shows our ads on Facebook and Instagram
  • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): records anonymized sessions (clicks, scrolls, mouse movement) and heatmaps so we can fix confusing pages. Typed form fields are masked
  • Klaviyo (Klaviyo): sends email and "back in stock" alerts you sign up for
  • Redo (Redo Tech): handles returns, exchanges, and order protection
  • Wishlist Plus (Swym): saves your wishlist
  • Shopify Inbox (Shopify): live chat with our staff
  • Google Maps (Google): shows our store location

Session recording: Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use our pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and pages viewed, so we can find and fix problems. It is set to hide what you type into forms. If you don't want this, choose "Decline" or change your choice in "Your privacy choices."

Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information for advertising.

4. How we share information

  • Service providers that run our store, payments, shipping (USPS, UPS, DHL), returns, email and text messaging, and customer service. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
  • International orders: if you order from outside the United States, our international checkout partner may process your order, payment, duties, and taxes as the seller of record. Its own privacy policy also applies to that order.
  • Advertising partners (Google and Meta), through the tools in section 3. Some state laws call this "selling" or "sharing" personal information. We don't sell your information for money.
  • Legal reasons: when the law requires it, to protect our rights, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Opt out of ad tracking: use the "Your privacy choices" link at the bottom of any page, or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
  • Marketing email: use the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to stop or HELP for help.
  • Access, correction, or deletion: depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, delete, or get a copy of your personal information. Email us using the contact details below and we'll respond within the time the law requires. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
  • Visitors from the EU and UK: we use non-essential cookies only with your consent. You can also object to our processing or complain to your local data protection authority.

6. How long we keep information

We keep order and payment records for 7 years for tax and accounting. We keep fitting measurements and family information for 7 years after your family's last purchase or fitting, or until you ask us to delete them. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Text messaging

Our text message terms are on our Mobile Terms of Service page. We don't sell or share the phone numbers or text-message consent you give us with third parties for their own marketing.

8. Children

Our site is meant for adults, including families shopping for missionaries. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Security

We use the security Shopify and our providers offer, including encrypted checkout. No system is perfectly secure.

10. Changes

We'll post any changes here and update the date at the top.
